
MICHAEL McCABE
Michael is the UK Executive Producer of the hit musical WICKED (Apollo Victoria Theatre) winner of the 2010 Olivier Award for 'Most Popular Show' and the Whatsonstage.com Award for 'Best West End Show' in both 2010 and 2011. He is also a consultant for WICKED in Germany and Holland.
His other current producing credits are: the new hit West End musical Million Dollar Quartet (Noël Coward Theatre) and the Broadway revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (Al Hirschfeld Theatre), starring Daniel Radcliffe.
Previous productions include: Promises, Promises (Broadway, 2010) starring Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth, and Spring Awakening (West End, 2009), winner of the Critics' Circle Award for 'Best Musical' and four Olivier Awards, including 'Best Musical'.
He was the original Marketing Director (and subsequently also Associate Producer, Worldwide) of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' Mamma Mia!, from 1998-2004, working on 14 premieres of the musical around the world (including London, Toronto, San Francisco, Melbourne, Sydney, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Hamburg, Utrecht and on Broadway).
Michael started his career in theatre ticket sales in 1984 before joining the advertising agency Dewynters the following year. He went on to work as a General Manager for The Foreigner, starring Nicholas Lyndhurst, and the musical The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
He founded Michael McCabe Associates in 1989, the West End's first company dedicated solely to the marketing of commercial theatre productions. He continued as Managing Director for over a decade, overseeing the expansion of the company into a full-service advertising agency. During this time he also spent two years working on behalf of the agency in New York.
Michael is a member of the Society of London Theatre.
